I’m Nahla Amaya, a multifaceted creative from the Democratic Republic of Congo, born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium. My passion for fashion ignited at a young age, sparked by my mother’s overflowing closets of clothing, jewelry, and designer shoes. My fascination only grew as I explored my aunts' wardrobes and even tried on my babysitter's outfits—an early sign of how deeply fashion and creativity are woven into my life.

 

As a teenager, I spent countless hours poring over magazines, watching fashion TV, and studying the looks of my favorite celebrities, long before I realized that fashion could be a career.

 

I began my journey at art school in Antwerp, but soon pivoted to medicine and then journalism, only to realize my true calling lay in styling. At 18, I fully committed to this path, starting with freelance projects to build my portfolio. My efforts led me to collaborate with photographers and modeling agencies in Brussels, Antwerp, and Paris, eventually taking me to the USA. I spent two years in Los Angeles and two years in New York City, immersing myself in the fashion world and expanding my network.

 

After years of working extensively, often for free, I returned to Belgium to continue my creative career. I split my time between Belgium and Paris before ultimately moving to Paris for a year, driven by my two great passions: fashion and creativity.

​I’m also the founder and co-owner of Studio Jamil, a full-service creative agency that I run with my partner, Yasmina Ben Ziane.

 

I’m a passionate and ambitious woman, and I believe my work reflects this dedication. I love sharing my art with others in an environment of positive energy and collaboration.
